This August, my boyfriend and I headed to California, which was a first for both of us! Since we had a bunch of activities planned, I tried to vlog most of our trip to share with you! Here’s the first vlog from our stay!
Our first day in LA was spent at Universal Studios Hollywood! The first thing we did when we got there was head straight to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which I was OBVIOUSLY super excited about! I loved how the park really made you feel immersed in the Wizarding World — the cast in the shops would crack jokes about our muggle money, there were butterbeer stands everywhere (YUM) and you could even perform some spells in certain areas, if you had a special wand from Olivander’s!
After roaming around Hogsmeade for a little while , we decided to go check out the Simpson’s section of the park. Once again, I was super impressed by the sets, the food, and just the general atmosphere of this area of the park. I really felt like we were visiting Springfield! We even had lunch and a Duff beer at Krusty Burger!
We went on a few rides, including the Jurassic Park one (which I loved!), the Transformers ride, Shrek 4D and, of course, the Simpsons Ride. Then, we headed to the new Walking Dead attraction, which is basically a walkthrough attraction. Needless to say, I ended up screaming quite a few times at all the zombies popping out here and there. There were two little boys in the line behind us and one of them ended up holding my boyfriend’s hand at one point because he was scared haha, I thought it was adorable!
Around 5PM, we got quite tired and decided to exit the park to have dinner. Just outside the park, there’s a section called the City Walk where you can find a bunch of shops and restaurants. We decided to go to Bubba Gump Shrimp for our meal and we loved our experience there! The food was great, and our waiter played a trivia game on the Forrest Gump movie with us, which was super entertaining!
After we ate, we were so full and tired (long day + jet lag will do that to ya!) that we decided to head back to our hotel for the night. It was such a fun day and this is a super family friendly activity you could do if you’re looking for things to do in Los Angeles!
